General Questions

We’ve put together some commonly asked questions to give you more information about our Products and the service we offer with Kira.

Whether you’re a beginner user who wants to become an expert, or just need to learn the basics, you’ve come to the right place.  

To learn how to use Kira and have a guide to all the basics you need to get up and running immediately, go through these articles.

Dashboard

Kira is compatible with Microsoft Windows 7/8/8.1/10 in 32 and 64-bit version but there are some minimum requirements.

You must be sure that:

  • All Windows Updates available at the current date are installed
  • All required drivers and dll libraries are installed
  • Windows Media Player is installed and configured

If you have any compatibility issue, please contact the support providing all information.

Android OS

In order to use Kira with your Android mobile device, then you need to install the appropriate USB driver.

Here you are some links where you can download them:

 

To connect with any of the Google Nexus devices then please install the Google USB driver.

If you don’t see a link for the manufacturer of your device here, go to the support section of the manufacturer’s website and search for USB driver downloads for your device.


 

Don’t forget to check the page here if you are an Apple user!


In order to use Kira on your Xiaomi, you’ll need to enable developer options, USB debugging and few more options.

Please follow these steps to quickly learn how to enable developer mode on Xiaomi:

  1. Open Settings, and select “About phone”.
  2. Tap on “MIUI version” till when developer mode is enabled.
  3. Go back, and scroll down to “Additional settings”, then select “Developer options”.
  4. Scroll down, and check the “USB debugging” entry under “Debugging”.
  5. Also check “Install via USB” and “USB debugging (Security settings)” to be able to install apk and use your PC keyboard to enter text directly from Kira.
  6. Uncheck the “Verify apps over USB” option if you want to speed up the process of loading app onto your device for testing; this will deny Google to inspect apps installed over USB.
  7. Check the “Show taps” to demonstrate the interaction in the application, show places of taps and gestures in the video.
  8. Be sure to select “File Transfer” as Default USB Configuration
  9. Plug your device into your computer and be sure to have all USB Drivers installed for your device.

How to enable Developer mode step by step on Xiaomi

In order to use Kira on your device, you’ll need to enable developer options and USB debugging.

Please follow these steps to quickly learn how to enable developer mode on Android:

  1. Open Settings, and select “About
  2. Tap on “Build number” seven times.
  3. Go back, and select “Developer options”.
  4. Scroll down, and check the “Android debugging” or “USB debugging” entry under “Debugging”.
  5. Uncheck the “Verify apps over USB” option if you want to speed up the process of loading app onto your device for testing; this will deny Google to inspect apps installed over USB.
  6. Check the “Show taps” to demonstrate the interaction in the application, show places of taps and gestures in the video.

Please follow these steps to quickly learn how to enable Transfer Files MTP on Android:

  1. Plug your device into your computer and enable Developer Mode
  2. Open device Settings
  3. Scroll down at the bottom to select Developer Options
  4. Scroll down the page and select Default USB configuration
  5. Enable Transferring files / Android Auto

A bug report contains device logs, stack traces, and other diagnostic information to help developers find and fix bugs in their app.

This feature is not supported by lower versions of Android on Huawei devices.

As a pre-requisite, connect your Huawei via USB and be sure to have developer mode and usb debugging enabled. If you need any help on this please navigate here.

To record and save the video, please follow these steps on your device:

  1. Connect your device with Kira, then from Android menu click on Video button
  2. Swipe down the status bar on your device to display all shortcuts
  3. Touch Screen recorder to start recording with the built-in recorder
  4. Once done, swipe down the status bar again and Stop recording.
  5. Now click the Save video button in the window to transfer the video on your PC.

Apple - iOS & iPadOS

In order to use Kira with your iOS on Windows 7 or 8/8.1, you’ll need to install the USB Drivers for your device.

To do so, please install iTunes, run it and follow instructions to sync with your device; once done, your device will be identified and so you can uninstall it.

In order to use Kira on your iOS, you’ll need to enable developer options and to do so, you need a Mac device.

Please follow these steps to quickly learn how to enable developer mode on iOS:

  1. On your Mac, download and install Xcode.
  2. Plug your phone into your Mac via USB.
  3. Open the Settings app on your iPhone. This is the gray gear icon on your iPhone’s Home screen.
  4. The Developer option will automatically appear next to a hammer icon on your iPhone’s Setting

Video capture feature doesn’t require Developer mode, but it’s not supported by iPhones with no built-in recorder.

  1. Download and install Kira
  2. From the navigaton bar on top select iOS
  3. Select Video
  4. Using the built-in screen recorder on your device, capture a video
  5. Once done, click the Save button on Kira to transfer last recorded video on your pc.

App crashes and system performance issues on iOS devices sometimes go together, so it’s nice to have a log of what’s going wrong when you need to start troubleshooting.

With Kira, you can find logs detailing all of those crashes on your iPhone and iPad without any effort.

Capturing console log from Safari mobile browser on your PC has never been easier.

Just bear in mind that it supports iOS 10/11/12 only.

  1. Open device Settings
  2. Scroll down and select Safari
  3. Scroll down and select Advanced
  4. Enable Web Inspector
  5. Plug your device into your computer
  6. Run Kira and select iOS from navigation bar on top
  7. Select Web Inspector and choose the browser (just installed browser will be displayed)
  8. Run Safari on your device and start navigation; you will see the Console tab populated with logs.

 


Whether you have an ipa file or an url, you will be able to download and install app on your device without any effort.
